Welcome!

THINGS THAT MAKE MY SOUL HAPPY.

2017 9/Apr

I’m going to be 26 in exactly one month. Like most people my age, I rely on myself when it comes to money. Crunching the numbers around the places I want to travel, a (possible) down payment on a house, the potential rugrats I may or may not produce, all layered under the fabulous retirement I’ve […]

I became aware of the most epic hashtag of all time today and we need to talk about it: #LiveTweetYourPeriod. Periods suck. Like they really suck. They hurt, they inconvenience, and goddamn it they sometimes stain. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t talk about them. It’s something that happens to every woman every month for […]

Tech bro, bro culture, bro-iest tech companies, and all that $!#% – it’s garbage. Garbage many startups have been quick to denounce. Garbage many tech companies have been swift “to be seen” taking to the curb, dumping it where it belongs, to be disposed of forever in some far off place (a place far away from their company’s […]

Firstly, download Dubsmash because it is so great. I threw away half of my Saturday night sitting in bed making videos of myself, making myself laugh. And nothing about that is sad. In light of the stressful week ahead I just wanted to bask in some silliness and share it with ya’ll. Its important to stay focused, […]

This is me having fun with the 25 brands that best represent “me”, a mini project for my advertising class. Its pretty amateur, pretty silly, and I had a pretty good time doing it.

Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift – Mary Oliver It can be really hard to look at your glass half full, as the expression goes. Really. Hard. As a teenager, I sure as hell could not see how losing my dad […]

Fear brings humility. Fear brings gratitude from you to the people who admire what you are doing. Why would you want to do something that makes you afraid? Because art again comes from that sense of connection that we have with the rest of the human herd. It's a way at a deep level we can communicate with others. That connection feeds us more than any dollars will.

Yesterday would have been my dad’s 56th birthday. He’s been gone ten years now. I wrote this poem a while back, but felt like sharing it again here. His passing is no longer something that makes me bitter, and my god did I used to be bitter. Now when I think of him, I don’t […]

I bought this peanut butter two days ago. This is how it looks now. I live alone. Poor PB, never knew what was coming for him. I used and abused him, sucked him dry, licked him clean, overindulged in his creamy goodness… Whatever. The point is I hardly ever even buy peanut butter (to avoid situations like this from happening on the […]
